Key dates

When you give someone a birthday, an anniversary or any yearly date, Nifty shows it on Today, People and the Calendar as it comes round.

Add a key date

1. Open the person and press D, or choose the + beside Key dates.
2. Choose a Type: Birthday, Anniversary, Work anniversary, First met, Name day, In memory or Other.
3. Fill in the Date. Leave the year blank if you don't know it.
4. Choose Add date, or press ⌘↵.

Label is optional. It names an Other date, such as "Sobriety", or adds a detail, such as "Wedding". A person has one birthday, but they can have as many other dates as you like.

When a date has a year, Nifty counts for you, such as "Turns 34" or "12 years". Someone born on 29 February has their birthday on 1 March in other years.

Change or remove one

Choose the date under Key dates. Change it and choose Save, or choose Remove date.

Where they show

• Today: Faces beside the date show who has a key date in the next 14 days. See Today.
• People: A face shows its date for two weeks beforehand, and Coming up lists six weeks ahead. See People.
• Calendar: Each day lists its key dates. See Calendar.
