Facts

Keep the small things you know about someone, such as their children's names or how they take their coffee.

On this page

A fact is something you know about a person, under a fact label such as Coffee or Children: "Flat white, no sugar", or "Ava and Leo". Facts are on the Facts tab of each person's page, your own too, as cards in the fact labels' order.

Add a fact

  1. Open the person's Facts tab. Under their facts are a few labels they don't have a fact for yet, such as + Coffee. Choose one, or Other… for any other label.
  2. Type the fact. It can be a few lines, and web addresses in it become links.
  3. Choose Save, or press ⌘↵.

Other… asks for the label first. Type to find one, or type a new name and choose Add label, then type the fact.

A person has one fact for each label. To add to it, such as a second favourite place, edit the fact and put everything in its text, a line each if you like. Labels the person already has a fact for aren't offered when you add another. Each fact says when you last changed it, such as "Updated March 2025", so you can tell how fresh it is.

New installs start with these fact labels: Partner, Children, Pets, Coffee, Tea, Favourite food, Allergies and diet, Hobbies, Favourite places and Gift ideas. You can rename or delete any of them.

Change or delete a fact

Choose the fact's card to change it, or Delete it. Its ⋯ has Edit… and Delete… too. Deleting a fact can't be undone.

Fact labels

Every person shares the same fact labels, and their facts follow the labels' order. Settings → Fact labels lists them with how many facts each has. There you can:

  • drag a label, or press ⌥↑ or ⌥↓ on it, to change the order
  • rename a label or give it an icon, with its pencil; the new name shows on everyone's facts
  • add a label with New fact label
  • delete a label with its bin icon, which deletes its facts too; Nifty says how many first

Facts, connections or key dates?

  • If the person you're thinking of is in Nifty, connect them instead, such as a partner or a child.
  • Birthdays and anniversaries belong in key dates, so Nifty reminds you of them.

Facts suit everything else, such as "Children: Ava and Leo" for people who aren't in Nifty.

AI apps you've connected to Nifty can read a person's facts. Search doesn't look in facts yet.
